Meet Katelyn
Katelyn is a devoted mother and a fierce advocate following the loss of her beloved son, Maddox James Pearl, to DIPG.
During Maddox’s fourteen-month battle, Katelyn channeled her focus into hope, healing, and deep dives into medical research, becoming an essential part of Maddox’s medical team. She also built connections with several mothers navigating this difficult journey.
Katelyn is now leveraging her business education and organizational skills to assist the Tough2gether Founding Families. Her primary goal is to unite these families and battle every angle of DIPG as one entity.
With fierce tenacity, Katelyn will advocate for:
- Increased funding for DIPG research and trials.
- Assistance for families to find resources to meet their financial needs.
- Increased availability of palliative and hospice care

Katelyn leads the Say My Name initiative, helping our families share their stories and honor the courageous children who have battled childhood cancer, raising awareness and funds to combat this devastating disease, and coming alongside families and partner DIPG organizations to lend a hand however we can.

Maddox was the light of our lives and he deserved a chance to grow old, he deserved the chance to just be a kid, but DIPG stole that.
Together we can do so much more, together we can fight. In Maddox's memory we are devoted to helping other families in the fight as well as helping parents during the grieving process and with your help we can continue to spread a little Maddox Magic where ever it is needed.
